Reiki is super easy and enjoyable to learn. In the Western world, this popular system is best known for it's technique of hands on healing ~ which studies have shown to be highly beneficial for stress reduction and relaxation, enhancing and promoting healing.
But, it’s more than just hands on healing. Reiki is also a spiritual practice developed by Mikao Usui Sensei, in Japan, as a path to enlightenment, developing balance ~ in mind, body, and spirit.
Ongoing research is showing that Reiki can play an important part in improving the quality of life for those with life limiting illness, reduction of pain, reduction of side effects of chemotherapy, reduction of stress and anxiety.
Reiki Level 1 - Shoden
Shoden (meaning first teaching) course will be held over 2 days ~ 10.00am -4.30pm.
Over the course of these 2 days you will be introduced to, and build yourself a foundation of Reiki principles. The basis is the Reiki Precepts (instruction), meditation techniques and the art of "hands on healing" for self and others (family and friends). You will receive 4 attunements (initiations). These are all core components of Reiki, which can be further developed and built upon with your own practice.
This course is facilitated by Louise Senior - Reiki Master with many years teaching experience of both large and more intimate groups.
I greatly respect and honour the traditional teachings of Mikao Usui Sensei and stay as true to these original teachings, to the very best of my knowledge and ability. I don’t incorporate other methods, varieties, other systems of “Reiki” or other modalities.
You share an understanding that Reiki is not ego, or competition. I share from the heart.
There’s no additional pre or post course work, as I share all that you’ll need for your ongoing practice, during the course, face to face.
I believe in keeping it personal, so you’ll also find small classes.

As I teach to Australian Reiki Connection (ARC) standards, your certificate can be recognised by this body (should you wish to join) and a full manual is provided.
I teach a strong foundation in Level 1 which can be built upon with Level 2 - Okuden (hidden or inner teachings), which usually follows 3 - 6 months of practice later (should you choose to continue) - and further on to the Master Level - Shinpiden (mystery teachings) anytime from 6-12 months of practice later.
In Level 2 you'll learn the mantras/chants, symbols and distance healing and receive 3 further attunements. At this level the certificate gains you accreditation as a practitioner, enabling you to get insurance (if you should choose to take this path).
The following level, Master Level - Shinpiden, meaning "mystery teachings” is taken over a 3 day period. Over this time you’ll find that you can go deeper into your practice, still. You’ll receive the master symbol and learn further techniques, enabling you to truly embody the Art of Being Reiki. This class is also the teaching level, enabling you to later go on to teach the wonderful practice of Reiki, yourself.
