Birthday of Usui Sensei ~ World Reiki Day

Usui Mikao Sensei was born this day, 15th of August, in 1865.

It’s thanks to him that so many of us have access to the amazing healing art of Usui Reiki Ryoho.

His legacy, as a result of wanting as many to experience his system of Reiki as possible, is that Reiki is now known worldwide!

Although at it’s heart and in truth, it's a Japanese system, it’s found it’s way into many languages and as many expressions of how “Reiki” is now known.

There’s now Dolphin Reiki, Mermaid Reiki, Angel Reiki, Crystal Reiki, Tibetan Reiki and the list goes on and on and continues to grow.

Mostly, with many of these systems, the word “Reiki” has been added to give credibility to many differing modalities, it remains however, an incredible healing legacy of Usui Sensei that he has succeeded in bringing Reiki healing, long past his death in 1926, to such a global reach.

On this day, now known as World Reiki Day, I would just like to give my heartfelt Gratitude not only to Usui Sensei, but to the many who honour his legacy through dedication and commitment to sharing his teachings.

In Gassho.
