Leo Season ~ Time to Shine

Jul 31
2 min read

We’re in Leo Season. Sun is in it’s home sign. Jupiter’s newly arrived and the South node even more recently. Jupiter was cazimi = in the heart of the Sun (exact) a couple of days ago.

What does this all mean for us Earthlings?

Leo rules the heart. In it’s highest expression it’s a time for heartfelt connection, courage, creativity and time to connect with our inner alchemist.

In it’s lowest expression it rules the Ego. You’ve seen or know the type, those who need the spotlight on them. The attention seekers for attention’s sake.

In a higher expression it’s shining OUR light, brightly, authentically, and in that, giving permission to those around us to do the same.

This energy, for me, is connected to the Reiki Precept of “For today only - show Gratitude” which also has the translation of “Be Humble”.

It’s an invitation to be grateful for all, big and small blessings, and for that which may not seem to be a blessing at all.

To remember we’re each playing a role in a greater plan and to show humility in who we are and where we’re from and what we have to give and receive.

To be the person to give a hand up, not a hand out.

To be glad to be here - wherever “here” is for you.

Be kind and generous - with your time.

Offer sincere praise.

Be the person to show or remind another of their light.

A smile can be performative, or genuine, and when it’s genuine, can mean so much to another. It can light a room. It can lift a stranger.

I feel that with the South node moving through Leo, we’ll be given opportunity to see where we’ve allowed Ego to get in the way of what’s True for us, and an opportunity to reconnect with our Heart’s desire.

We’re being asked to reclaim a sense of Joy and playfulness.

In memory of Irish musician, poet, storyteller, humanitarian and Academy Award winning song writer, Glen Hansard (who sadly and tragically passed this week), I feel to offer his final words when accepting the award “Make Art Make Art”!

and I’ll add, put your Heart and Soul into it.

There’s reason for finding the word “art” in “Heart”.

Do it your way.

Drop the inner critic and bring it - and You - to Life - and Love.
