Scorpio Full Moon
How’s everyone feeling after the weekend’s annual intense Full Moon in Scorpio?
Whilst Beltaine and the celebration of fertilisation has taken place in the Northern Hemishphere, we in the Southern Hemisphere have been in the opposite and equivalent of Samhain - the time where the veil is thinnest. A time of contact with the ancestors. Most befitting for a Scorpio Moon! Scorpio is a sign of fixed water. Think frozen water. As we know, the body is composed of a high percentage of water. Water is associated with our emotional body. So we’ve just been through a significant weekend, and have been provided with an invitation to allow emotions to flow as needed and to release anything that's been frozen within, and that may have had an ancestoral theme.
The Reiki Precept of Show Compassion is the one that’s been most highlighted for me over this time. In Japan, it’s a given that “show compassion” is given to oneself first, and then extended to the other. It’s been my experience that we tend to show compassion more easily to the outsider than we do for ourselves. And then we could argue, that until true compassion for self has been recognized, that true compassion for the other is not possible. How are you doing with this? What’s arisen for you to release?
As of just after 4.30pm this afternoon AEST, the moon shifted into Sagittarius and you may have noticed the mood lifting. Over the next couple of days, you’re offered an opportunity to see and tend to what’s arisen over the weekend from a higher perspective. The Sun is in Taurus, the gardener of the zodiac, an Earth sign associated with the physical body and senses. The remedy for any emotional intensity experienced with the Scorpio Full Moon is to be “embodied”, to connect with your body, the body of Nature and Mother Earth, and to properly nurture with good food and rest. Trust the changes.
Go gently into the week ahead. Making time to smell the roses will serve you well.
